- Floors covered and protected from wall to wall before any work begins
- Furniture moved to the center of the room and fully covered, or moved out with you
- Wallpaper loosened with steam and taken down by hand, one section at a time
- Old glue washed off so nothing is left behind to show through the paint
- Walls repaired, patched and sanded smooth, then sealed with a quality primer
- Walls painted in the color you choose, then full cleanup and a final walkthrough with you

Wallpaper removal questions
My walls have more than one layer of wallpaper. Can you remove them all?
Yes. Older Cape homes often have two or three layers. We steam and remove one layer at a time until we reach the bare wall.
What if the wall or sheetrock gets damaged under the paper?
It happens, mostly with old paper that was hung without primer. We seal any torn areas, patch and sand them, so the wall is ready for a clean coat of paint.
Can you just paint over the wallpaper?
We do not recommend it. Paint can make the paper bubble and lift, and the seams often show through. When the paper comes off first, the finish is cleaner and lasts longer.
Can you paint the room at the same time?
Yes. Most homeowners paint the walls right after the paper comes off, and many do the ceiling and trim too. We can include the whole room in your free detailed estimate.
